Case Study: Midlands Flavours
From Concept to National Recognition
Strategic Development | Brand Creation | Network Management | Stakeholder Engagement | Event Delivery
Project Overview
Bernie was recruited to establish and develop Midlands Flavours, a regional food and drink network created to bring producers together, strengthen collaboration and raise the profile of the Midlands food sector.
Initially employed for 18 months, Bernie led the development of the network from the ground up, creating the Midlands Flavours brand, building membership, establishing relationships and developing a programme of networking and promotional activities. Following this period, she successfully secured the contract to continue managing and growing the network.
Project Delivery
Bernie’s responsibilities included:
Brand Development: Creating the Midlands Flavours identity and establishing a recognisable regional brand for food and drink producers.
Network Management: Recruiting and engaging members, managing stakeholder relationships and coordinating network activities.
Networking & Collaboration: Organising and hosting events to connect producers, encourage collaboration and create business opportunities.
National Events: Coordinating member participation at major events including the National Ploughing Championships, CATEX, Gifted and Blas na hÉireann.
Business Development: Supporting producers to increase their visibility, access new markets and develop valuable industry connections.
The Outcome
Within a relatively short period, Midlands Flavours developed from a new initiative into an active, recognisable regional food network with a growing national profile.
Through strategic leadership, brand development and hands-on management, Bernie created a collaborative platform that connected producers, strengthened the region’s food identity and opened doors to national promotional and commercial opportunities.
